On Sunday, July 7th, the doors to our church will be closed.
You heard that right. But instead of meeting for church, we are going out and being the church in our communities. We are asking you to bless your neighbors by hosting, gathering, or serving them on the weekend of July 7th.
Invite a neighbor or friend to watch Gateway Austin Online at 9:15am or 11:15am or throw a party to get to know your neighbors.
We will also have opportunities to serve our community available around our city with larger groups of people! We will be coupling this event with active Gateway Ministry Partners through which we already serve our city in an effort to continue leaning into our partner relationships. Please join us by serving our community, Life by Life!
Ways to Serve WITH us:
- North Austin // Pflugerville
- Mission of Hope – Meal Packing || North Austin Campus || 9am-12pm || As an organization committed to life transformation for every man, woman, and child, Mission of Hope is so thankful for your desire to help fight hunger in Haiti. This meal-packing event will play an integral role in providing a daily, nutritious meal to over 120,000 kids in Haiti and help them move from hunger to HOPE! Families may serve together for this event, with a minimum age of 10 preferred.
- More Than Welcome—Backpack Assembly || North Austin Campus || 11am-12:30pm || Help start the school year off right for many students across our city as we come together and fill our goal of 200 backpacks! Our hope is to distribute school supplies to those in need throughout our Refugee and Church community. Families may serve together at this event; a minimum age of 6 is preferred.
- South Austin
- More Than Welcome—Brunch || South Austin Campus || 11:30am-2pm || This is a potluck-style opportunity to break bread and have meaningful conversations with some of our neighbors! It’s an amazing opportunity to experience foods from another culture and meet some new friends. This is a great family-friendly activity!
- Central Austin
- Hope Clinic – Care Bag Assembly || Hope Clinic || 11am-12pm || Hope Clinic patients are medically underserved neighbors living in the Austin area, often resettled refugees and immigrants coming from all over the world. We provide excellent primary healthcare and give them a Care Bag on their way out the door. These bags, filled with hygiene items, are another way to show compassion and care all while helping stretch their budgets. This is a great family-friendly activity!
- Buda
- Austin Disaster Relief Network – Survivor Bag Assembly || Buda Campus || 10am-11am || Austin Disaster Relief Network is comprised of over 200 Greater Austin churches and thousands of trained volunteers bringing hope into crisis. ADRN’s network enables and empowers church members to organize, prepare, mobilize, and respond quickly in the event of disaster, great or small. This event will help prepare hygiene bags for those who experience loss or need during a crisis. This is a great family-friendly activity!
