A Transformed Life

A TRANSFORMED LIFE

AUGUST 4

Somewhere in our faith journey we stopped believing in the impossible. We traded in the God who became flesh, born of a virgin, crucified, resurrected, and ascended into Heaven, for a Divine guide-from-the-side.

Let us open our eyes once again, or for the first time, to the God who still parts seas, who still heals broken bodies, and who still transforms lives. The God of Miracles.

The biggest miracle is a transformed life.

Work through the following questions and scriptures on your own or get together with your group, spiritual  running partners, or family to talk through what you are learning.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What are your favorite kinds of transformation stories? (Home renovations, cooking, makeovers, fashion, health changes, etc.) Why?
  2. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 5:22-23. Jesus is not only sufficient to accomplish our salvation, but our sanctification (the process of making us more like Him) as well!
    • If you trust and follow Jesus, how have you experienced the kind of transformation that these two passages describe?
    • In what areas would you like to see God bring transformation?
    • If you don’t yet trust and follow Jesus, in what ways do you recognize your own need for transformation?

KEY SCRIPTURE

2 Corinthians 5:17    Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Galatians 5:22-23    But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

PRAYER

Spend the majority of your time together interceding for one another in your requests for transformation. Then spend time praying for transformation you would like to see in those you care about. Pray for those who are far from God that He would grant them the greatest miracle of salvation through His son.

PRACTICE

Join us for Pray First, where we devote 21 days to intentional prayer as a church family and commit to praying for the transforming power of Jesus in your life and others.
