Gateway Church has been a cornerstone of faith in the Austin area for many years, and like many organizations, we’ve faced significant challenges and changes since 2020. As we move forward, we want to share some important updates with our church family and reaffirm our commitment to our mission of helping people know Jesus, grow in Jesus, and share Jesus with others.
Our church has experienced remarkable growth over the past few years, with more than half of our current members joining since 2020. This growth, coupled with the changing landscape of ministry, has led us to reevaluate our structure and make some difficult decisions to ensure the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of our mission.
After much prayer, fasting, and seeking counsel, our leadership team, including our Board of Directors and Spiritual Overseers, has decided to implement several changes to our campus structure. These decisions were not made lightly, and we understand that they may be challenging for some of our members. However, we believe these changes will ultimately strengthen our ability to serve the greater Austin area and fulfill our calling as a church.
We want to express our deep appreciation for the dedication and faithfulness of all our campus leaders, staff, and volunteers who have poured their hearts into building our church community. We’re especially grateful for the leadership of Johnny and Kenny Green, who have guided our Pflugerville and Central campuses with love and wisdom during this transition period.
As we navigate these changes, we ask for your continued prayers and support. We believe that God is leading us into a new season of ministry, and we’re excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Our commitment to loving everyone life by life remains unchanged, and we’re confident that God will continue to use Gateway Church to impact lives across the Austin area.
Let us remember the words of Jeremiah 17:7-8, which remind us to put our trust in the Lord and remain firmly rooted in Him, even during times of change and uncertainty. As we move forward together, may we continue to grow in faith, serve our community, and share the love of Jesus with those around us.
